Sulfur Removal and Recovery
CrystaTech is a leading expert in the field of sulfur removal and recovery. For over twenty years, CrystaTech has partnered with the U.S. Department of Energy, Gas Technology Institute, Electric Power Research Institute, National Energy Technology Laboratory, and the energy sector worldwide to develop solutions for complex sour gas production, processing, and treating issues. Our solutions include:
CrystaSulf
- Removes H2S from any gas stream using a patented, liquid phase Claus reaction.
- Directly treats sour natural gas at pressure using a one-step hydrocarbon based treatment
- Brings the operational reliability of the Claus process to the medium scale sulfur removal market (0.1 to 25 tons per day)
- Has exceptional environmental characteristics and is part of CrystaTech's EcoFriendly Technology platform
CrystaSulf Direct Oxidation
- CrystaSulf-DO is a current technology development initiative between CrystaTech, GTI and two public utilities.
- Extends the treating range of CrystaSulf into the core of the Claus market.
- Removes up to 250 tons per day of sulfur from any gas stream using a patented process.
- Places a direct oxidation (“DO”) unit in front of the CrystaSulf unit.
- Performs a bulk H2S cut, removing up to 90% of the contaminant in a high pressure reactor
- CrystaSulf acts as a polishing unit, removing the remaining H2S.
CrystaSulf Downhole Sulfur Removal
- A current technology development initiative between CrystaTech and a leading energy company
- Designed to remove sulfur deposits in sour gas wells (+35% H2S) using a solvent regeneration process. Well bore sulfur deposition causes significant issues for producers, including sulfur plugging, flow restriction, reservoir impairment and tar formation.
- Uses a patented approach to selectively remove elemental sulfur from the well bore casing and thereby eliminate the root cause of these issues.
- Is a fraction of the cost of non-regenerable methods.
- Is scheduled for commercial deployment in 2008.
